Creating ‘Thought For The Day’

A picture story book detailing the creation of ‘Thought For The Day’.

Starting, as usual, with the eyes

Blocking in colour can be a tedious business.

I’ve had to make a minor adjustment to the nose. This can be done by first erasing the paint with wire wool (only on gessoed surface)

adding some dark hair.

Building up the dark hair layer by layer

I’ve gone over the stick for continuity in the hair. I’ll paint the stick in later.

Painting in the stick with my favourite sword brush.
